This collection of his literary papers includes the following: two undated poems about "Jim Crow"; excerpts from Picolilly, 1823, a satire describing the life and thoughts of bachelors; four chapters from "The Recluse," a series of essays written under the pseudonym "Poor Tom Quigg," for the New-England Galaxy, 1824; a series of essays and newspaper clippings from a section of the American Traveller, 1825, called "The Olio" by Oliver Ogle Wagstaff (pseud.), which includes "The Diary of Tom Shuttlecock"; and an unpublished manuscript, "The New Theory of Jean Arago," written in 1840, with a note on the cover dated 1853, which is a series of essays on meteorology.
